Nail Fungus can cause nails to become yellow or discolored. As the infection advances, the nail can become thick, brittle and separate from the nail bed. If left untreated it can spread to adjacent nails and cause pain when wearing shoes or walking.
Nail infection is caused by contact with dermatophytes. Common sources of infection include swimming pools, public showers, gyms and nail spas. Tight fitting shoes and nail trauma can also lead to infection. Genetic susceptibility, poor health and increasing age are also factors that increase the risk of nail infection.
The heat of the laser kills the dermatophytes. Sessions are 15 minutes where we treat the entire nail bed up to matrix and the surrounding skin and adjacent nails. Treatments are spaced 4 weeks apart in order to support healthy nail growth and to ensure all fungus has been destroyed.
Our certified laser technician/medical pedicurist offers the highest level of infection control, safety and patient comfort.
